8) Understanding job types: Fixed, Hourly, and Daily

TechBid offers three ways to hire. Choose based on your needs:

Fixed-Price Jobs

  • You set a budget for the entire project (e.g., $500 for a logo design).
  • Freelancers apply knowing the exact amount they will earn.
  • Payment is held in escrow until you approve and release the final work.
  • Best for: Well-defined projects with clear deliverables.

Hourly Jobs

  • You set an hourly rate (e.g., $50/hour) and a maximum number of hours (e.g., 100 hours total).
  • You only pay for the actual hours the freelancer logs and you approve.
  • Great for ongoing work, open-ended projects, or support roles where scope isn't fixed.
  • Example: You post "Web Development - $50/hr, max 100 hours". A freelancer can work for 40 hours, and you pay $2,000.
  • Best for: Flexible projects, ongoing support, or work without fixed deadlines.

Daily Jobs

  • You set a daily rate (e.g., $200/day) and a maximum number of days (e.g., 30 days).
  • You only pay for the days worked and approved.
  • Perfect for contract roles, part-time positions, or time-based engagements.
  • Example: You post "Virtual Assistant - $200/day, max 30 days". The freelancer works 10 days, and you pay $2,000.
  • Best for: Contract work, temporary positions, or project-based engagements with a daily rate.

9) How to submit and verify work

For freelancers: How to submit your work for approval

  • In the contract room, click the "Submit Work" button.
  • Add links to your deliverables (files, code, designs, etc.).
  • Optionally add a message explaining what you've completed.
  • For hourly/daily jobs: The hours or days you've worked are automatically logged. You submit the work when complete, and the employer reviews and approves the time.
  • Once submitted, the employer has a review window to check your work and approve payment.

For employers: How to approve or request revisions

  • When a freelancer submits work, you'll see it in the contract room with all deliverables.
  • Review the work carefully during the review window.
  • If satisfied: Click "Approve & Release Payment" to pay the freelancer and complete the job.
  • If not satisfied: Click "Request Revision" to ask for changes. The freelancer can revise and resubmit.
  • For hourly/daily jobs: You also verify the hours or days logged before approving payment.
  • Payments are released immediately from escrow once you approve.

10) Escrow protection and staying safe

About payment protection and fraud prevention:

  • Workers: Never start work until the employer has funded the full payment in escrow.
  • Escrow means the payment is held by TechBid and released to the freelancer only after the work is approved.
  • If a job looks suspicious or too good to be true, use the Report Job button.
  • Report jobs that seem misleading, from suspicious employers, or asking for payment outside TechBid.
  • Our team investigates reports and removes fraudulent jobs.

11) How to report a suspicious job

If you find a fake or suspicious job:

  • Open the job details and click the Report Job button.
  • Select the reason (e.g., misleading description, suspicious employer, no escrow, etc.).
  • Add any additional details if needed (optional).
  • Submit the report — our team reviews it within 24-48 hours.
  • Confirmed fraud results in the job being removed from the platform.

12) Who is online?

Understanding the online indicator:

  • Green dot (●): The other person is currently in the contract room and available to chat.
  • Gray dot (●): The other person is offline or not currently in the contract room.
  • The status updates automatically as people log in or out.
